Fall 2011 - Winter 2012:
Monday's are tough on everyone. With the excitment and busy happenings or just the relaxation that happens over the weekend, we know Mondays are filled with cleaning up from the weekend, putting out fires, a week of school schedules, and a very long time till Friday evening. Monday mornings is a devotional that is meant for getting your week started with a Godly focus.
We often face seemingly insurmountable challenges each day. Yet God reminds us quietly and regularly that He is here and in control. God Touches is an amazing book that helps the reader focus on and draw strength from those little touches that God gives us.
You want to help, but you don't know how! Cancer is one of those subjects that people often don't talk about in their daily life. We don't want to hear about it, talk about it, or even think about it. Consequently, people don't have any idea what to think, what to do, what to say, or how to act around friends and family when the Big C diagnosis happens. Discomfort leads to distance at a time when closeness is most needed.
What can you do or say that helps? What might you do or say that hurts, even though you thought you
were helping? Sometimes things look different from the perspective of the person with cancer, and
platitudes never help. Cheryl explores the real side of friendship, how to get past the discomfort,
and what your friend who has cancer really needs... not just what everyone thinks they need.
